As external communications lead, you will play a pivotal role in positioning both the company and its leadership as trusted, forward‑looking partners in building the grids of the future.
You will operate at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and influence; working closely with senior leaders, technical experts, and regional teams to bring impactful narratives to life on a global stage. From major investment announcements and product innovations to thought leadership on energy transition and sustainability, your work will directly contribute to strengthening reputation, supporting growth, and differentiating the business in a highly competitive market.
This role offers high visibility, significant autonomy, and the chance to make a tangible impact, such as elevating executive presence, driving media engagement, and shaping how a critical industry is understood by the world. It is ideal for a senior communications professional who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys turning complexity into clarity, and is motivated by contributing to one of the central topics of our time: the energy transition.
How You Will Make An Impact- Lead global external communications strategy: Define and drive the external communications agenda, strengthen market visibility, support growth priorities, and elevate innovation storytelling across regions and channels.
- Elevate executive and leadership visibility: Own the development of high‑impact, executive‑level content for senior leadership, including keynote messaging, videos, social media (especially LinkedIn), press materials, and media interviews, ensuring a strong, consistent, and authentic leadership voice externally.
- Build compelling narratives from complex topics: Translate highly technical and strategic subjects, such as energy transition, electrification, grid expansion, sustainability, and transformer technologies, into clear, engaging, and differentiated stories that resonate with external audiences.
- Develop and align global storytelling: Partner closely with Business Unit leaders, Global Product Group teams, and regional/country communications to produce feature stories, press releases, and media content. Ensure message consistency, strategic alignment, and Business Unit validation across markets.
- Support strategic milestones and flagship moments: Lead external communications for key business initiatives, including factory inaugurations, major investments, and key events; ensuring visibility, coherence, and strong reputational impact.
- Act as a trusted partner in stakeholder storytelling: Support customer‑facing narratives and strategic storytelling that build trust, reinforce long‑term partnerships, and showcase real‑world impact.
- Lead crisis and issues communications: Anticipate, prepare for, and manage reputational risks and crisis situations. Work closely with crisis team, regional comms and business stakeholders for rapid response coordination to protect and strengthen the company’s reputation globally.
- Senior experience with strong business acumen: 10+ years in external communications, corporate communications, or public relations, ideally with a mix of agency and in‑house experience in global, matrixed organizations.
- Proven expertise in media and campaign activation: Strong track record of developing and executing impactful media relations strategies and integrated campaigns across channels, with a clear understanding of how to drive visibility and engagement.
- Outstanding writing and storytelling skills: Exceptional ability to craft clear, compelling, and audience‑centric content—from executive speeches to press materials—tailored to different formats and stakeholders.
- Strategic advisor to senior leaders: Comfortable working closely with executives, coaching and shaping their external presence, messaging, and thought leadership positioning.
- Operational excellence and delivery focus: Highly organized and execution‑driven, able to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Crisis communications expertise: Experienced in handling sensitive issues, managing reputational risks, and delivering clear, confident communication under pressure.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills: Able to work effectively across functions, geographies, and cultures, aligning diverse stakeholders around a shared communications strategy.
- Comfort with technical and complex topics: Curious and capable of quickly understanding industrial, technological, and sustainability topics, translating them into meaningful external narratives.
- Passion for energy transition and sustainability: Motivated to contribute to shaping the narrative around electrification, decarbonization, and the future of energy infrastructure.
