The opportunity Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our High Voltage business as a Field Service Engineer. You’ll contribute to the execution of the service strategy and service growth by focusing on delivering timely, high-quality, cost-effective service offerings, solutions, and engineering projects for customers.
Responsibilities
- Execute Service work in accordance with Hitachi Energy standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
- Provide quality customer service to satisfy our prestigious customers.
- Identify new service opportunities for Hitachi Energy.
- Play a key role within a team of knowledgeable and experienced engineers/technicians undertaking and coordinating service activities on site.
- Keep a close eye on health and safety and quality standards, schedules, and progress reporting to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Lead high‑voltage service activities, including installation, commissioning, refurbishments, device replacements, routine maintenance, inspections, and identifying problems to assist with analysis and recommendations.
- Coordinate all delivered parts, materials, and components for each project and optimise the use of your resources to meet delivery and performance targets.
- Lead jobs from start to finish under the direction of the project manager, to meet clients’ requirements.
- Maintain project site documentation and checklists, prepare reports, and help to resolve any issues on site.
- Provide feedback to assist with identifying and recommending effective new solutions to help meet business and/or customer needs.
- Apply all safety rules and follow safe practices, and consider environmental responsibilities.
- Assess and highlight hazards and implement actions to ensure the safety of both people and equipment.
Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering-related and industry experience required.
- Experience within the High Voltage or the power sector (installation/service/maintenance) and/or a broad knowledge of power engineering plant and equipment.
- Alternatively you are a trained electrician.
- Proven experience with Mechanical installations, Switchgear, Cabling/wiring installation, Oil handling/processing/sampling, device function checks, and power equipment testing instruments such as Omicron/Megger.
- Experience in leading a team/management of subcontractors.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Suitable qualifications such as IPAF, PASMA, CCNSG; training will be provided.
- Full driving licence.
