And that’s where you come in.**Job Description:****Your new role**We’re looking for a skilled and motivated **Electrical Engineer** to join our Engineering team in Newton Aycliffe. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong electrical engineering background, who also has an appreciation or understanding of mechanical systems, to contribute to high-impact, technically complex projects.Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you’ll play a key role in the design, development, and integration of electrical systems across a range of applications.**Some key responsibilities*** Develop functional electrical schemes for systems and subassemblies* Produce detailed wiring diagrams, harness layouts and electrical documentation for production* Design electrical subassemblies, including cubicles, enclosures and external equipment* Define and specify electrical and electro-mechanical components* Prepare system and component technical specifications* Support integration and testing of electrical systems, including on-system validation* Conduct design reviews with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers* Collaborate across engineering disciplines, particularly where electrical and mechanical interfaces intersect**About you**You’ll be an Electrical Engineer with strong technical capability and a proactive mindset, comfortable working both independently and within cross-functional teams.We’re particularly interested in candidates who bring:* A solid foundation in electrical engineering principles and design* Experience producing schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation* An understanding or exposure to mechanical systems or electro-mechanical integration* Familiarity with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, Catia or electrical design software (e.g. E3 Zuken)* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse technical requirements* Effective communication skills and the confidence to engage with a wide range of stakeholders**Qualifications:*** Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline, with relevant experience)**Desirable (but not essential):*** Experience within the rail industry or other highly regulated engineering environments* Knowledge of electrical system standards and testing approaches within rail or similar sectors**What we offer**We value the importance of all of our employees.
