Job Description
This role will play a key part within the Services job family working on the RON Project. It is a temporary position, expected to last around 18 months, responsible for monitoring the overall performance of the RON network and seeking optimisation opportunities. The role supports configuration, maintenance and upgrades for the system, handling complex network issues escalated by O&M staff and validating changes in the test and reference network environment before updating production.

- Network Performance Monitoring and Optimisation
- VLAN Configuration and Maintenance
- Switch/Router/Firewall Configuration
- Threat and Patch Validation (Use of Test and RefNet Environment)
- Hardware and Firmware Upgrades
- Hardware Lifecycle Management
- Backup and Recovery of Network Devices
- Documentation and Network Diagrams
- Access Control Management
- Policy Validation
- Remediation Implementation (in response to a network issue)
- Recommendation to NSA
- Change Implementation in Production Environment
- Log in / log off activities for new systems and applications (also monitoring the capacity)
- Use of distributed file storage / sharing
- Admin rights for specific applications
- Run book (Service Centre Technical Document)
- Use of Metrix
