Are you curious, motivated, and keen to gain real‑world experience in a fast‑paced, supportive environment? We’re looking for an Intern who wants to learn, contribute, and make a genuine impact while building skills that will set them up for their future career. This internship is a hands‑on opportunity where you’ll work alongside experienced professionals, get exposure to meaningful projects, and see how your work makes a difference from day one. This opportunity will be for 8 weeks, starting on 29th June 2026 - 21st August 2026.

You will help review our policies and ensure we are ready for all aspects of the Employment Rights Act, which comes into effect throughout 2026 and 2027. This role will be based in Birmingham and offer hybrid working.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to build an understanding of how upcoming employment legislation will impact Hitachi Energy, like ERA legislation in the UK and EUPT legislation in Ireland.
  • Help assess and summarise the key impacts of these legislative changes and present clear insights to local HR teams.
  • Review current local HR policies, identify gaps or risks, and make recommendations for improvements aligned with new legislation (with opportunities to support implementation where possible).
  • Review existing local HR processes, suggest practical enhancements, and assist with making updates where appropriate.
Background
  • University degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Psychology, or Law.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
  • Confidence in engaging with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail, particularly with data and documentation.
  • Ability to research HR topics, policies, or legislation.
