We are recruiting for a Safety, Health and Environment Technician Apprenticeship at Hampton Court Palace, giving you a fantastic opportunity to grow your Health and Safety Support skills whilst working at the beautiful Hampton Court Palace. Being an apprentice is an exciting challenge – often demanding but hugely rewarding. You will be training within a heritage environment, working alongside and learning from our experienced and dedicated team, developing skills and knowledge.
The role will involve assisting the Senior Health, Safety and Environment Advisor in monitoring safety enquiries, including maintaining HRP incident database and following up with investigations & gathering evidence. This role will require you to communicate effectively with your colleagues and support audit programmes.
Whilst studying towards your apprenticeship you will also:
- Monitor safety enquiries to the central safety inbox and, where necessary, review relevant security control room daily logs.
- Assist with maintaining the HRP accident/incident database and associated correspondence, following up with investigations where necessary.
- Assist with near miss, accident and dangerous occurrence investigations by interviewing and gathering evidence.
- Update records of Fire, HSE information held on the Health & Safety SharePoint Workspace.
- Attend safety committees and other meetings, taking minutes and notes and circulating agendas.
- Assist with fire drills and other emergency training exercises.
- Support audit programmes and regulatory/insurance inspections.
- Maintain the risk action database.
- Undertake information gathering and research activities.
- Provide excellent customer support across all relevant areas of the business.
We do have some essential criteria in order to be successful in your application:
- You must be 18 years old or over.
- You must not have completed a degree or equivalent level qualification in the UK or elsewhere.
- You must be able to commute to your assigned place of work.
- You must be able to commit to the full duration of the apprenticeship.
