Join our enthusiastic team and help to maintain and develop the wonderful gardens of Hillsborough Castle! The grounds of Hillsborough have undergone major work to enhance the beauty and horticultural interest over the past 11 years, and have been fully open to the public for the past 7 years. The gardens are varied and include formal areas with ornamental planting and topiary, lawns and park land trees, herbaceous borders and a productive kitchen garden, woodland, lakes and meadows.
We now have a full-time permanent Established position available in the team. The successful candidate will be working with the rest of the Gardens and Estates team, taking on a variety of different tasks. Working in a small team and with a keen eye for detail you will have a passion for gardening and will be keen to work and/or gain experience working in prestigious gardens. You will have the opportunity to display and/or build on professional all-round knowledge of garden maintenance tasks and work to provide a 5 Star service to our visitors.
You will be team-focused and competent in using a range of horticultural machinery, for example hedge trimmers, lawn-mowers and strimmers. Applicants must be able to provide the highest level of garden and estate maintenance whilst maintaining a safe, clean, and secure working environment. Availability to work some weekend days and Bank holidays is essential.
