Middlethorpe Hall is a historic William III country house located in York, set in 20 acres of gardens and parkland. Built in 1699 and thoughtfully restored by Historic House Hotels Ltd., the Hall reflects its period heritage with careful decoration, antiques, and fine pictures. The property offers 29 individually decorated bedrooms and suites, alongside panelled dining rooms overlooking the gardens that serve imaginative traditional cuisine. It also features a Health & Fitness Spa, extensive conference facilities, and beautifully restored gardens, making it an ideal backdrop for weddings and special events.

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Head Waiter at Middlethorpe Hall & Spa in York. The Head Waiter will be responsible for overseeing daily dining room operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, coordinating with kitchen and waiting team to provide a seamless dining experience, managing reservations, and maintaining dining area cleanliness and atmosphere. Duties include welcoming guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and addressing any guest inquiries or concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Customer Service and Communication skills
  • Experience in Food & Beverage Service and Food Service
  • Basic Cooking knowledge is a plus
  • Strong Leadership and Team Management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service
  • Relevant hospitality experience or a background in a similar role is preferred
