We're looking to hear from enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals who would like to be considered for future Mobility Driver positions at Edinburgh Castle.
While there are currently no live vacancies being advertised, we are building a talent pool of candidates for future opportunities.
Applications will be reviewed on a weekly basis. If your cover letter demonstrates that you meet the requirements of the role, you will be invited to interview. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and are successful at interview will be placed in our talent pool and contacted as suitable Mobility Driver opportunities arise over the following 12 months.
Roles within our Mobility Driving team are 25.9 hours per week on a 3-day-in 3-day-off rota, to include weekends. We offer a variety of contract types including Fixed Term Contracts over our busiest months from Easter to Summer to part year/all-year-round permanent roles.

Key Responsibilities of this role
- Drive the mobility vehicle for visitors who require assistance accessing the Castle.
- Perform banksperson duties, ensuring a safe route through the Castle for the mobility cars and any other vehicle needing to access the inner areas.
- Provide a world class welcome and direct visitors as appropriate upon their arrival at Edinburgh Castle and during their visit.
- Complete daily checks on the vehicles, taking vehicles out for service runs and refuelling.
- Log any issues or faults with vehicles and reporting to line manager.
- Assist other teams within the Castle, as and when required, moving stock, deliveries or other items from one location to another.
- Working in all weathers in a fast-paced environment amongst a high volume of visitors.

Essential Criteria:
- A full UK driving licence, or a valid non-UK driving licence that permits driving in the UK, with a commitment to convert to a full UK driving licence within 12 months of appointment or before the non-UK licence can no longer be used legally in the UK, whichever is sooner.
- Excellent customer service skills
- A passion for the historic environment and sharing this with visitors
- Experience supporting a team to achieve results
- Experience of working in a fast-paced, busy environment
- Excellent communication skills
