Program Details
- This is a full time 8 week paid Emerging Talent Programme placement.
- You will be paid a £532.80 per week bursary.
- This will be a hybrid working post with 2-3 days per week in our Historic England London office.
- You can work flexible hours during the placement.
- Historic England’s Emerging Talent Programme provides paid opportunities to those underrepresented in the heritage sector.
- Our training placements are for young people aged 18 to 30 years old across three audiences:
- Black, Asian, or ethnic minorities
- Disabled people
- People who are disadvantaged by their social and/or economic background or circumstances
Purpose of the Placement
The Research Coordinator placement will be based with Historic England's Research Development Team (RDT), working closely with the Research Partnerships Manager in our London office. RDT are a national team, responsible for Historic England's activities as an Independent Research Organisation eligible for research funding from UK Research and Innovation. The Research Coordinator will support our doctoral student activities and help Historic England staff develop proposals for research funding.
What you will be doing
- Organise and plan a Being Human Festival event at Kenwood House showcasing our Collaborative Doctoral Partnership student research. Tasks include booking, liaising with internal and external colleagues, and producing event materials.
- Compile a list of external policies on using Artificial Intelligence, produce a report for the Research Development Team, and may write a first draft of the AI policy.
- Support the Research Development team with day‑to‑day administrative tasks, including updating our research funding record and horizon scanning for funding opportunities.
Events and Meetings
We will host an in‑person Welcome Event for all Emerging Talent Placements in July. Weekly online Research Development Team meetings will be attended. A Research Development Team away day will be held at a Historic England office outside London.
