Historic England has a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Financial Systems Manager. This is a full time, permanent position based in Swindon with hybrid working. As our Financial Systems Manager, you will lead and manage the Financial Systems Team in maintaining and developing Historic England’s and its customers’ financial systems and providing support to users. You will support, maintain and develop financial systems and their interfaces with other systems for all customers. You will manage and develop financial systems reporting strategy, including the Excel based management information system and other management reporting tools. This exciting role will enable you to participate in exploring the benefits and challenges of AI and emerging technologies within financial systems to improve organisation efficiencies that are reliable and scalable.
Who we are looking for:
- Lead and manage the Financial Systems Team in maintaining and developing Historic England’s and its customers’ financial systems and providing support to users.
- Participate in exploring the benefits and challenges of AI and emerging technologies within financial systems to improve organisation efficiencies that are reliable and scalable.
- At least 3 years’ experience of managing a team involved in first- or second-line systems support or customer care, working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with experience of project management.
- Deadline orientated, able to prioritise, plan, organise own workload, and direct that of the team.
- Able to look at both the technical details, and the overall strategic picture, exploring relevant emerging technologies.
- Display an interest in development and improvement of elements of systems used with an understanding of financial and IT terminology, supported by strong technical skills.
- Experience of report writing and interrogation/manipulation of databases ideally Crystal Reports, XQuery, MS SQL and Excel.
