Historic England has a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Business Manager - East. This is a full time, permanent contract position. The location of this role is Cambridge, inclusive with hybrid working.

What you will be doing

As our Business Manager, you will manage the workloads of the Business Management Team and develop your capabilities, ensuring compliance with agreed practices and standards in the delivery of grant‑aid and advice. As a member of the Local Leadership Team you will take responsibility for performance monitoring and actively providing feedback to the management team. You will advise the Leadership Team on operational and grants budgeting and will provide quality assurance, e.g. in relation to procurement and financial administration, and undertake quality control in relation to our advisory and grant work.

Who we are looking for

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Experience of managing complex business processes including financial management
  • Demonstrable track record of effective leadership and motivation
  • Awareness of the principles of management accounting
