37 per week, term time only plus 1 day. Contract type: Permanent. Wednesday 25 February 2026 Medina College is seeking a Student Engagement Officer. They will play a key role in supporting the school’s pastoral team by working directly with students who are experiencing difficulties engaging with learning. Through a trauma‑informed approach, the Student Engagement Officer will contribute to a positive school culture where all students feel safe, understood, and valued.

Medina College is located over two sites, the 11‑16 site on the outskirts of Newport, and the post 16 site, The Island VI Form, in a central town location in Newport. However this post will be exclusively based on the Medina College 11‑16 site.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide dynamic, consistent, equitable and motivational instruction ensuring students, over the time they are part of the programme, engage with activities and learning processes.
  • Embody our Medina College values of Ambition, Courage, Confidence and Kindness.
  • Work with all colleagues to maintain a robust safeguarding environment with a clear focus on the safety and wellbeing of the students.
  • Support the Trust’s values of Courage, Ambition, Excellence, Sustainability, Equity and Pupil’s First.
