We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Controller to join our Logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our SAP inventory accurately reflects the physical stock held across our UK 3PL warehouses.
This is a head-office-based position requiring strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and confident communication to work effectively with external logistics partners. The role also involves regular travel to UK 3PL sites to support stock checks and operational reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and audit the virtual and physical inventory checks at all UK warehouses. Reconcile results against SAP records, applying for adjustments with full supporting evidence.
- Investigate and identify the causes of stock discrepancies. Work with the Logistics Manager and 3PL partners to develop corrective actions.
- Investigate customer short delivery disputes, issue credits where appropriate, and coordinate with the logistics partner to prevent reoccurrence.
Systems & Data Integrity
- Perform daily checks of all EDI feeds to ensure full data integrity between SAP and warehouse systems. Resolve any failed or mismatched transactions promptly.
- Track and analyse lost, damaged, or faulty stock in line with business KPIs. Submit supplier claims and follow through to a resolution.
3PL Performance Management
- Monitor and report on logistics partner performance against agreed KPIs, highlighting issues and driving improvement initiatives.
Master Data Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date product master data within SAP.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in inventory control or stock management, ideally within a 3PL or multi-site logistics environment
- Strong working knowledge of SAP (or similar ERP system)
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence and own transport (monthly warehouse visits required)
