We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to lead the strategy, evolution and delivery of our Core Trading Platforms value stream. This role is accountable for maximising the value delivered by a set of shared technology platforms and enabling capabilities that underpin Hiscox London Market's trading ecosystem and support the delivery of business outcomes across multiple value streams.
Core Trading Platforms provides the foundational capabilities upon which business-facing products and services are built. Operating as a platform team, the focus is on enabling stream-aligned teams to deliver value safely, quickly and sustainably through the provision of reusable services, shared capabilities, architectural guidance and platform products.
This role plays a critical part in defining platform strategy, balancing investment between platform modernisation, technical sustainability, operational resilience and business enablement. Working at the intersection of business and technology, you will ensure that platform capabilities evolve in line with organisational priorities while reducing cognitive load for delivery teams and accelerating the flow of value across the organisation.
You will define and maintain the platform vision, strategy and roadmap, making informed prioritisation decisions and balancing immediate operational needs with longer-term strategic objectives. Acting as the accountable decision maker for the value stream, you will manage risks, dependencies and trade-offs across a complex technology landscape whilst ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business outcomes.
Working closely with Product Owners, Engineering, Architecture, Change, Operations and business stakeholders, you will help shape the future of our trading capabilities, ensuring the platform remains reliable, scalable, secure and fit for future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the platform vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment to business objectives, technology strategy and strategic priorities.
- Own the end‑to‑end platform product lifecycle, from discovery and delivery through optimisation, ensuring value is continuously realised.
- Act as the accountable decision‑maker for the Core Trading Platforms value stream, operating within agreed strategic and architectural guardrails and reporting progress, risks, and trade‑offs to leadership.
- Own, maintain, and continuously refine the product roadmap, balancing short‑term delivery needs with longer‑term strategic outcomes.
- Prioritise initiatives using value, risk, data, customer insight, and platform adoption needs, translating business goals into clear outcomes and sequenced work.
- Partner closely with cross‑functional teams including Product, Technology, Data, Operations, and Change to ensure shared understanding of priorities, dependencies, scope, and success measures.
- Partner with business-facing value streams to understand capability needs and ensure platform investments maximise organisational outcomes.
- Champion the value stream across the organisation, promoting outcomes delivered, securing alignment, investment, and support, and ensuring change is embedded across people, process, and technology.
- Be accountable for achieving and evidencing business value, establishing feedback loops, tracking outcomes, and adapting priorities based on insight and performance data.
- Guide and coach Product Owners and delivery teams, supporting resolution of complex issues, sharing best practice, and contributing to consistent product ways of working.
- Manage complexity and interdependencies, understanding technology strategy, adjacent roadmaps, and the needs of platform consumers to optimise resourcing, funding, collaboration, and avoid duplication.
- Ensure Core Trading Platforms delivers reusable capabilities, services and technology foundations that enable stream-aligned teams to deliver business value more effectively.
