The role
We are seeking an ambitious and results driven Strategic Account Manager with a growth mindset and proven ability of driving long term value from relationships. You will be a driving force with experience of creating a market leading broker proposition and have proven experience of utilising market insight to predict and react to distribution shifts.
In this exciting and varied role you will manage some of Hiscox’s largest and fastest growing relationships, with an emphasis on delivering long term value and a first-class service. This role will offer the right individual a strong presence and voice within Hiscox, both with internal senior management teams and externally with the major UK Brokers. The successful candidate will therefore require excellent relationship building and influencing skills.
Our Strategic Account Managers operate nationally, adding an additional layer of relationship management and ensuring a first-class service is delivered. You will be part of a team that is driven, ambitious and successful and will work closely with the Broker Development Director and Chief Distribution Officer, supporting on special projects to ensure our Strategic Account Management capability is best in class across the Broker landscape.
What you’ll be doing
· Long term strategic planning with key broker partners to deliver financial targets and critical milestones
· Developing and implementing relationship management strategies including leading and co-ordinating tender responses and bids
· Bring to life longer term proactive prospecting and pipeline management
· Develop awareness, implementation and growth performance of the Hiscox Sector strategy with designated Brokers
· Utilising market insight to drive opportunity and minimise risk
· Be the go-to person with key players in your assigned brokers and networks
· Measure and review progress and performance of assigned broker accounts
· Work with regional teams, underwriting, claims, finance, legal, the data team and management to embed plans and to hunt for and convert larger cases or deals
· Providing input and new ideas to the Strategic Account Management sales strategy and pipeline process
· Close management of remuneration and contractual negotiation for assigned accounts

· In depth knowledge of the UK Insurance market and wider macro-economic environment.
· Strong track record of broker and client relationship management strategies
· A strong performer with significant large account management development experience in the UK broker channel
· Ability to contribute to the overall UK strategy and add value beyond your own specialism
· Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills who can bring commercial intellect
· A strong negotiator with proven influencing skills
· Able to quickly establish credibility in order to develop long lasting relationships with brokers and Underwriters
· Maintains high broker satisfaction ratings as well as defined metrics and KPI’s
· Great problem solving and analytical abilities
· Organised with a proactive approach to juggling priorities
· A flexible approach to workload and travel within the UK
