The Opportunity
We are looking for a Security Architect to join our Security Strategy & Architecture team, supporting both business-as-usual security initiatives and major transformation programmes across the organisation. This role will focus on embedding security into cloud platforms, business applications, data solutions and technology transformation initiatives. Working closely with engineering, architecture and business teams, you will provide pragmatic security guidance that enables innovation whilst managing risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide security architecture guidance across cloud, application and enterprise technology initiatives
- Partner with solution architects, engineers and project teams to ensure security is embedded by design
- Conduct architecture reviews, threat modelling and security assessments
- Define security requirements and standards for new technologies and services
- Support risk assessments and remediation activities
- Communicate security recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to the evolution of security strategy, governance and architecture practices
Experience Required
- Proven experience working as a Security Architect, Security Consultant or Security Design Lead
- Experience securing cloud environments such as Azure, AWS or GCP
- Strong understanding of security architecture principles and frameworks
- Experience supporting enterprise transformation or large-scale technology programmes
- Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex security concepts clearly
- Knowledge of modern identity, network, application and data security controls
- Financial services or insurance experience
- Security considerations for AI and data platforms
- Experience with regulatory frameworks such as FCA, DORA, Lloyd’s or NYDFS
- Experience with security automation, scripting or infrastructure-as-code concepts
