The Team

Our Schemes team specializes in creating and managing bespoke insurance solutions, working closely with brokers to develop niche packages and identify new opportunities. They oversee the entire process from concept to implementation, providing ongoing support.

The Role

As a Schemes Underwriter, you will be key to delivering tailored solutions for niche customer groups through our broker partners. You will manage our existing portfolio, collaborate across departments, and contribute to strategic growth initiatives. Your responsibilities include underwriting, servicing broker relationships, and influencing underwriting strategies.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Providing excellent service to brokers, managing referrals, and underwriting complex business
  2. Driving profitable growth of schemes in collaboration with the Sector lead and underwriting team
  3. Challenging conventions and executing effective growth strategies
  4. Staying informed about sector risks to maintain market leadership
  5. Developing new products and propositions with the Sector lead
  6. Mentoring junior team members
  7. Shaping underwriting strategy and managing key broker relationships
  8. Operating within the Consumer sub-sector

Candidate Profile

  3. Experience in Schemes underwriting, especially in consumer products, preferred
  4. ACII qualification or progress towards it preferred
