The role

The role sits within the Specialty Claims team and is part of the wider Claims function who are based in London, Colchester, York and Glasgow. You will be working with colleagues in these locations on a daily basis. The team are open and collaborative, highly customer focused and dedicated individuals, who all strive to deliver the very best service and go the extra mile. The claims service is at the heart of the business.

This role will give you the opportunity to handle a large portfolio of cyber claims. You will be helping policyholders who are the victims of cyber attacks, have lost data or being threatened with action by the claimants and regulators. This job is always varied and never becomes routine or dull - you don’t know what each day will bring as new claims arise every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Investigation and management of cyber claims from first notification to conclusion, including recovery actions.
  • Leading cyber breach response cases and working closely with panel solicitors and cyber forensic experts.
  • Selection, instruction and active management of experts including IT forensics, cyber security consultants, lawyers, PR consultants and other third party experts.
  • Liaising and negotiating by telephone and in person with clients, brokers, claimants and their representatives.
  • Developing strong commercial relationships with clients and brokers alike. Demonstrating keen focus on the customer – regular communication with customers and brokers
  • Proactively managing a large claims portfolio.
  • Working closely with underwriters to win and retain business and to develop Hiscox’s insurance products.
  • Outside of pure claims handling you will be expected to assist in the continuous improvement of our Claims operation in line with our Claims 2020 strategy – by identifying areas of opportunity and helping create solutions.
