The Technology Supplier Manager sits within the Procurement Team and is responsible for contributing to and executing the Technology Supplier Management strategy, promoting supplier management best practice, creating and delivering training, providing guidance and support across global IT to ensure the proactive and effective management of suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a key contributor and subject‑matter expert in establishing and embedding the Supplier Management Framework.
  • Develop and maintain a series of supplier management guides and templates for training and support purposes.
  • Deliver/Support training across global Technology to educate Relationship Managers in best practices in order to achieve key objectives.
  • Develop and standardise supplier management techniques and approaches across Technology suppliers.
  • Update and maintain a supplier management register of all Technology suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to produce Exit Plans and other associated documents.
  • Support the implementation and testing, measuring and monitoring of supplier performance via the Procurement platform (Marketplace).
  • Assist Relationship Managers with key activities, including the operation of governance processes and the evaluation of supplier risks.
  • Facilitate and attend Quarterly Business Review Meetings for Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Support Relationship Managers with the management of suppliers with appropriate governance measures reflecting their importance using the Hiscox governance standards/tools.
  • Provide an initial escalation point for Relationship Managers for issues relating to service, scope, quality and related costs.
  • Lead in the resolution of issues, involving other internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Establish and support a regular Supplier Management forum for the Relationship Managers and a Community of Practice for all interested parties.
  • Achieve win‑win solutions with the Technology suppliers that promote innovation and continuous improvement whilst maintaining value for the duration of the services.
  • Maximise value delivered by suppliers.
  • Ensure close collaboration with the Technology Category Managers in Group Procurement for a smooth transition through each stage of the procurement lifecycle.

Must‑Haves

  • 5+ years experience in a similar role (or equivalent experience and knowledge).
  • Knowledge of supplier management processes throughout the supplier lifecycle.
  • Experience managing IT suppliers and working with IT Leadership teams.
  • Extensive understanding and practical use of contract and supplier management principles.
  • Ability to influence others and build working relationships across country boundaries.
  • Analytical, numerical and fact‑based with a delivery focus and commitment to meeting agreed timescales.
  • Creative, proactive, logical and innovative – does not accept the status quo.
  • Able to build strong working relationships at both senior management and operational team level.

Desired Qualifications

  • MCIPS or an SRM qualification.
  • Knowledge of financial or insurance industries and their regulatory requirements.
