Reporting To: Audit Director

Location: York or London

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal audits across the Hiscox Group in line with the Audit Plan.
  • Deliver audits from initial scoping and planning through to reporting and follow‑up of actions.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of several audits while supporting team members on others.
  • Manage stakeholder and relationship interactions at all levels.
  • Provide pragmatic recommendations to address issues and add value to the business.
  • Contribute to Internal Audit’s planning, strategy and continued development.
  • Lead the development and/or implementation of assigned aspects of non‑audit work and help build the team’s presence across the Group.
  • Perform special projects and review work as requested.
  • Assist the Head of Group Internal Audit and other team members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified with professional accountancy, audit or a CISA qualification.
  • Previous internal audit experience within insurance or broader financial services (external audit experience considered if exceptional).
  • Self‑confident, assertive, capable of delivering without high levels of supervision.
  • Ability to plan and organise end‑to‑end audits with minimal day‑to‑day supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong people and relationship building skills, including influencing and negotiating.
  • Excellent audit judgement, innovative problem‑solving skills and resilience.
  • Experience supervising and coaching team members is desirable.
  • Commercial awareness.
