We are looking for a market‑facing claims specialist to manage a portfolio of complex claims within the Power, Renewables, and Upstream Energy accounts. The candidate will work closely with underwriters and the Claims team to define and deliver the Hiscox Energy claims service proposition.
Responsibilities
- Independently handle a portfolio of Power, Renewable, and Upstream Energy claims.
- Support junior staff as a technical mentor and referral resource.
- Assist the Claims Manager with regular technical reporting and stakeholder liaison.
- Participate in quarterly account review and reserving process.
- Work with underwriters and claims colleagues to add value, build brand, and win and retain business.
- Support the Claims Manager in designing and implementing the claims service proposition.
- Travel for settlement meetings, client liaison, and conferences.
- Interact with key internal and external stakeholders on claims‑related matters.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years experience handling Energy claims within the London Market, at an insurer, loss‑adjusting firm, or broking house.
- Established relationships and strong reputation in the energy insurance industry.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel.
- Analytical, pragmatic, commercial and solution‑oriented approach.
- Strong initiative and confidence in decision‑making.
- Ability to challenge the norm and seek better solutions.
- Mathematical skills and report‑writing capability.
