Overview
We work within the Schemes team to deliver delegated authority and MGA solutions across the UK retail business, analysing new schemes opportunities and driving performance improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide independent review and recommendation for underwriting on large existing Schemes and MGAs.
- Deploy analytical skills to assess new schemes opportunities in collaboration with Delivery Underwriters.
- Complete ad hoc and deep‑dive data analysis, including underwriting referral analysis, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Design and develop sector‑relevant data standards with the analytics function.
- Create reporting suites using data visualisation tools to monitor performance, portfolio trends, and deliver monthly and quarterly reports.
- Identify performance trends and provide insights and recommendations for strategic decisions to support profitable growth.
- Support innovation and continuous improvement by implementing data, reporting and process improvements.
- Apply regulatory knowledge to portfolio decisions, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of customers.
- Deliver accurate reports across a wide range of business metrics, including deal conversion, underwriting loss, combined ratio, portfolio mix, claims frequency, and large loss analysis.
Qualifications
- Experience in an analytical role using data and insights to identify trends and make recommendations that drive business growth.
- Experience within insurance, preferably Schemes, MGA, Pricing, Portfolio Management or supporting underwriting decisions.
- Proficient in Python, R or SQL and data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
- Strong analytical, numerical and data manipulation skills.
- Ability to make confident decisions in complex situations and operate on own initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Results‑driven, collaborative, open to innovation and educated risk‑taking.
- Ability to execute and influence at all levels internally and externally.
