We are seeking a delivery-focused Product Owner to join a Value Stream, working with a cross‑functional team to deliver valuable, outcome‑driven change across our business capabilities. This role may operate across different domains (e.g. Reinsurance, Claims, Data), requiring the ability to quickly understand new problem spaces and focus on delivering the highest value outcomes.

As Product Owner, you will ensure the team works on the right priorities to deliver business value. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, prioritise, deliver, and manage the adoption of features. You will own complex problems, shape solutions, and ensure that delivered outcomes are adopted and provide measurable value. You will influence direction, challenge assumptions, and drive continuous improvement in how products and change are delivered.

You will also work closely with the Product Manager to contribute to product direction, with a primary focus on day‑to‑day delivery, ensuring outcomes align to business objectives and that products and services remain operational and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the voice of the customer, representing user needs and ensuring delivery focuses on meaningful business outcomes.
  • Translate ambiguous business problems into clear, outcome‑focused delivery goals.
  • Own and proactively manage a complex, multi‑stream product backlog aligned to business priorities and OKRs, ensuring a clear and continuous flow of work.
  • Facilitate workshops to define and shape work, assess value, and capture requirements into well‑defined deliverables with acceptance criteria.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, enabling effective collaboration with fast feedback loops.
  • Act as a trusted advisor providing insight on trade‑offs, sequencing, and delivery options.
  • Champion the product vision and direction, fostering strong ownership and team health.
  • Bring an innovative approach to product ownership, exploring emerging tools (including AI) to enhance work definition and continuous improvement.
  • Own and lead the continuous improvement of services, capabilities, and applications to drive efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

  • Key Partners: Product Managers, Change Manager, Flow Engineers, Lead Product Owner, Engineering Chapter Leads, and Business Stakeholders & Sponsors (Underwriting, Pricing, Operations, Risk, Finance, Data).
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4+ years as a Product Owner or in a similar role.
  • Proven success in delivering complex change initiatives with high levels of uncertainty.
  • Strong business acumen and financial sense, able to build compelling business cases and understand ROI.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with diverse technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting and energising engineering teams, fostering a positive collaborative environment.
  • Strong understanding of agile principles, experience in lean and fast‑moving environments, and the ability to optimise flow and productivity.
  • Experience in tracking the success and adoption of change, measuring desired outcomes, usability, customer satisfaction, and overall success.
  • Experience creating and tracking OKRs.
Desirable
  • Certified Agile Product Owner.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Lucid Chart.
  • Experience with emerging technologies.
  • Experience in Insurance and/or Reinsurance.
