Role Summary

The Crisis Management Division is part of the London Market operation and operates an experienced underwriting team covering Terrorism, Kidnap & Ransom, A&H, Recall and Credit & Political Risk. The division is expanding its Credit and Political Risk offering and seeks an experienced underwriter to support this growth.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite a wide range of Credit and Political Risk submissions, with an opportunity to develop the new book and help shape it.
• Prioritise high levels of service for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Attend client and broker meetings and represent Hiscox as required.
• Work with internal stakeholders to complete ad‑hoc tasks such as compiling reinsurance information, supporting QBRs and reviewing parts of the book.
• Collaborate with pricing actuaries, operational support and exposure management teams to ensure shared goal achievement.

Qualifications

• Proven track record and strong reputation in underwriting or broking.
• Organised, able to manage time effectively.
• Decisive with good judgement and accountability.
• Excellent communicator, team‑player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Driven, eager to learn and develop in the role.
• Willingness to travel internationally and attend evening business events as required.
