The role

The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading High Net Worth broker relationships across the Midlands, maximising their value in line with Hiscox’s strategic ambitions. You will take a partnership-led approach, aligning internal and external stakeholders to unlock growth opportunities, improve performance and strengthen market position. Success in this role requires a combination of relationship leadership, strategic thinking and the ability to use data-driven insight to drive meaningful commercial outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will own and lead relationships with key High Net Worth brokers in your region, driving growth, profitability and long-term strategic alignment, whilst delivering mutually successful partnerships for both Hiscox and brokers.
  • Deliver against clear revenue and growth targets, maintaining a high quality pipeline of case and portfolio opportunities in pursuit of account growth.
  • Support Regional Management team in the forecasting and planning of regional financial plans.
  • Work closely with Strategic Account Managers, Regional Management and Senior Leadership team members to coordinate account management activity and ensure that we effectively deploy internal resources in order to maximise relationship development.
  • Drive adoption of digital trading across your panel of brokers, liaising with internal stakeholders to improve the digital experience and maximise the digital distribution opportunity.
  • Provide external insight that informs business decisions regarding opportunities and changes in the High Net Worth market.
  • Work closely with New and Existing Business Underwriting teams to increase market penetration, enhance conversion, support retention and improve overall broker experience.
  • Maintain a high quality pipeline of case and portfolio opportunities in pursuit of account growth, as well as identifying and acting upon cross-sell opportunities across the portfolio of Hiscox products.
  • Take a data-led approach to decision making that drives improved commercial outcomes and enhancement of the broker experience.

About you

As an experienced Business Development Manager, you are ready to take ownership of a strategically important broker panel, where your ability to drive growth, influence direction and lead change will directly impact Hiscox’s success. You bring strong fundamentals in account management, but more importantly, you combine this with a strategic mindset, commercial acumen and a desire to shape both relationships and outcomes. You are comfortable operating at pace, influencing senior stakeholders and challenging the status quo to deliver better results.
