As a Reinsurance Technician you will work as part of a close‑knit, welcoming team, handling Outwards Reinsurance processes, recoveries and accruals for the Hiscox group in Colchester. You will liaise with Reinsurance Purchase, Underwriters, MI, Claims and other internal teams, as well as external brokers, to support the group’s reinsurance activities and meet quarter‑end deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Group RI calculations – facultative, excess of loss and pro rata
- Prepare advice documents and collect notes sent to brokers
- Cover note processing and premium payment
- Calculate premium adjustments, profit commissions, sliding‑scale adjustments
- Reporting – internal and external
- Assist with system developments
Qualifications
- Experience in outward reinsurance
- Able to manage own workload
- Team‑player mentality
- Good IT skills, including Excel
- ACII qualifications or experience dealing with all types of reinsurance
