Our client have an exciting opportunity for a Membership Manager to join their dedicated team. Location: London, Temple Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Salary: £38,750 – £41,750 per annum Hours: 37.5 per week About Our Client: As one of the four Inns of Court, we are proud to provide support, education and accommodation to barristers at every stage of their careers. The Inn awards just over a million pounds in scholarships each year, with the majority going to students commencing the bar vocational training course, some to students doing a post-graduate law conversion course, plus smaller amounts for ad hoc overseas placements, essay prizes etc. The Inn’s mission is to support the rule of law in the UK and overseas, especially Common Law jurisdictions, and carries this out by providing extensive education opportunities and support to its members across the world. Membership Manager – The Role: Our client are looking for a Membership Manager to join them to assist the Head of Membership in delivering and developing the current membership offering. You would lead our client’s UK Circuit Visits and Circuit strategy, with assistance from the Membership Coordinator. Membership Manager – Key Responsibilities: – Line managing the Membership Coordinator – Organisation of receptions around the UK – Organisation of Circuit Annual Dinners – Creation of agenda and minutes for each of the Circuit Societies – To assist with and attend the Inn’s international Amity Visits Abroad as required, including creation of the main itinerary, management of seating plans, liaising with international venues, stakeholder and suppliers – Act as the secretary for the Inn’s Membership Committee and International Sub-Committee, including creation of the Annual Reports, organising meetings when required – Responsible for the organisation and running of incoming (i.e. international) Amity Visits to the Inn, under the supervision of the Director of Membership and Catering Membership Manager – You: – Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (including Maths and English) – Experience of a similar working environment &/or understanding of the workings of the Temple or other not-for-profit organisation – IT literate with experience of using databases, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and other computerised systems – Experience of managing own workload with minimal supervision; able to multi-task, effectively plan work, prioritise and meet deadlines – Excellent planning and organisation skills to enable an exemplary level of service to our members – Ability to effectively motivate, lead & develop individuals and teams – To provide support, instruction & guidance to relevant colleague(s) as may be required – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability with the ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) at all levels – Ability to work on own initiative within the parameters of the role e.g. identifying ways that services within area of work can be improved – Ability to contribute positively to the work of the team and work supportively, co-operatively and collaboratively with colleagues – Ability and willingness to learn new skills – Ability to be flexible and attend work (e.g. meetings, events) outside the normal working week as may be required from time to time Membership Manager – Benefits: – Generous Annual leave entitlements – Life Assurance – Employee Assistance Programme (online resources and access to confidential counselling services) – Private Medical Insurance (including gym membership) – Medical Cashback Scheme (e.g. for dental, optical) – Generous Pension (12% employer contribution) – Season Ticket Loans – Access to a Range of Learning & Development Opportunities – Opportunity to join our dedicated team and work in a beautiful, unique, and historical setting in central London Application Process: Our client is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an environment that promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion.
