Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Engagement and Communications to join their dedicated team.

Location: London, EC4Y

Salary: Starting salary of £63,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About Us: As one of the four Inns of Court, we are proud to provide support, education and accommodation to barristers at every stage of their careers. The Inn awards just over a million pounds in scholarships each year, with the majority going to students commencing the bar vocational training course, some to students doing a post-graduate law conversion course, plus smaller amounts for ad hoc overseas placements, essay prizes etc. The Inn’s mission is to support the rule of law in the UK and overseas, especially Common Law jurisdictions, and carries this out by providing extensive education opportunities and support to its members across the world.

Head of Engagement and Communications – The Role: As a member of the senior management team, the post holder will work to ensure that the organisation communicates effectively with both internal and external audiences using the most appropriate and effective methods possible. We’d love to hear from you if you have experience in managing the communications function in an organisation and have a background in publishing, journalism, graphic design or heritage. This would also be a fantastic fit for you if you have previous management experience and have strong political and cultural sensitivity with a willingness to embrace the culture of the organisation.

Head of Engagement and Communications – Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all communications, including both routine messages as well as promotional material, bespoke campaigns and the content for the website for external audiences and the staff of the Inn.
  • Plan, design and deliver the communications strategy and plan to communicate and promote educational and membership events.
  • Oversee the development of brand guidelines and ensure that the brand is adopted and consistent across all communications.
  • Create the regular weekly mailing to members of the Inn.
  • Represent the communications function to the staff of the Inn and brief them.
