Are you good at spotting opportunities, making introductions and following things through until something happens? £1,200 per month fixed fee + 10% commission on paid speaking fees directly generated through the role.
OTE £1,800 PCM Approximately 15 hours per week Predominantly remote, with occasional in-person meetings, filming days and speaking engagements Jane Leonard is looking for a proactive and commercially minded person to help generate more paid speaking opportunities for Jane Leonard and PIECE by Piece .
This is primarily a business development and speaker booking role .
Your main focus will be simple: identify organisations that could benefit from hearing Jane speak, start conversations and help turn those conversations into paid bookings.
You will have plenty of autonomy over how you approach the role and the opportunity to play a meaningful part in growing Jane's speaking profile and PIECE by Piece.
About Jane Jane's background spans elite sport, the military, endurance challenges, coaching and speaking.
She represented England at rugby, served in the Royal Engineers and has rowed across the Pacific Ocean.
Her work now focuses on performance, resilience, challenge, behaviour change and helping people make their next move through PIECE by Piece.
There is already a strong story, clear positioning and proven speaking experience.
The opportunity now is to build a more consistent pipeline of speaking engagements.
The role A large part of your time will be spent proactively identifying and approaching organisations that could book Jane to speak.
These could include schools and academies, universities, businesses and corporate teams, sports organisations, conferences, leadership and performance events, and organisations focused on resilience, wellbeing, human performance and personal development.
You will use a mixture of email, Linked In, telephone conversations and relationship building to generate opportunities and keep them moving.
Your responsibilities will include: Researching relevant speaking opportunities and organisations Identifying and contacting potential clients Building and maintaining a pipeline of opportunities Following up leads consistently Arranging introductory calls and meetings Supporting proposals and booking conversations Keeping Jane's speaking calendar and opportunities organised Identifying relevant podcast, PR, partnership and collaboration opportunities There may also be some involvement in content, social media, speaker assets and suppliers where useful, but business development and generating speaking opportunities will be the priority.
What we are looking for You do not need previous experience in the speaking industry.
You do need to be comfortable approaching people, starting conversations and following opportunities through.
You will ideally be: Commercially minded and proactive Confident approaching new people and organisations Comfortable using the phone as well as email and Linked In Persistent without being pushy Highly organised and good at follow-up Self-motivated and able to work independently Good at building relationships Comfortable taking ownership rather than waiting for instructions Interested in areas such as performance, sport, leadership, coaching or personal development This role could suit someone with experience in business development, sales, partnerships, account management, recruitment, events or a similar relationship-led role.
What success looks like Success will mean building a healthy pipeline of relevant opportunities, creating regular conversations with potential clients and, most importantly, generating more paid speaking bookings.
