VESTA is a Principal Contractor based in Central London. We work with Architects, Building Surveyors and Managing Agents to deliver JCT contracts, including Minor and Intermediate works, with project values ranging from £50k to £3m. Our specialism is the refurbishment of traditional residential buildings, as well as commercial and warehouse fit-outs.

The successful applicant will assist the Pre-Construction team in pricing and preparing tenders for construction projects in and around London. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the construction industry and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced Estimators, Surveyors and Directors.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the preparation of tender submissions to meet tender deadlines
  • Assisting Estimators with pricing refurbishment and construction works
  • Issuing and tracking subcontractor and supplier enquiries
  • Assisting with the review and comparison of subcontractor quotations
  • Attending site visits and tender meetings with senior members of staff
  • Helping maintain organised tender files and project handover information
  • Recording tender information and maintaining internal tender trackers
  • Assisting with take-offs and measurement exercises
  • Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
  • Supporting the Pre-Construction team with day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Developing commercial awareness and understanding of construction costs and profit margins
  • Learning and understanding JCT Minor & Intermediate contracts and tender processes
Requirements
  • Interest in construction and the estimating/pre-construction side of the industry
  • Hard working, organised and willing to learn
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good writing and maths skills
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Relevant qualifications are an advantage but not essential
  • Previous construction experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence
