Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for a flexible, part‑time role? We are looking for a highly organised and detail‑oriented Payroll Administrator to join our head office team! This is a key administrative role requiring someone with a solid background in payroll or bookkeeping, who can confidently manage data, maintain employee records, and act as a key liaison between our internal teams and external payroll provider.
About Us: Founded in 1987, Monitor Group has built a strong reputation across the South East for professionalism, reliability, and exceptional service. With approximately 150 staff and a diverse range of commercial cleaning contracts, we pride ourselves on valuing our people and delivering excellence to our clients. Our head office in Northfleet houses all back‑office functions – including HR, Finance, Health & Safety, and Payroll – enabling us to maintain quality control and hands‑on support.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and review staff time sheets from managers for accuracy and completeness
- Submit approved payroll data to our outsourced payroll company
- Liaise directly with the payroll provider to resolve queries and supply any additional information required
- Check completed payroll reports for accuracy
- Respond to employee payroll‑related queries in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of sickness, holidays, and other absences
- Process information for starters and leavers, including changes to personal or bank details
- Keep accurate and confidential personnel files and payroll records
- Provide figures to the Finance Manager and Accounts Manager as required
- Manage attachments of earnings
- Provide data for annual and quarterly reporting, including P11Ds
- Pensions administration
- References including employment references and confirmation of employment for landlords, benefits etc
- Assist with other ad hoc admin and reporting tasks as needed

- Strong background in payroll administration or accounts
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Methodical and organised approach to tasks
- Confident communicator – able to work independently and liaise professionally with colleagues and third parties
- Flexible to cover the office when required
- Experience working with outsourced payroll is desirable but not essential
