As the company continues to grow, we are looking for a confident and ambitious Junior Solar Sales Coordinator to join our office-based sales team. This is a junior development role, so previous solar experience is not essential. You will initially focus on contacting and qualifying new enquiries while receiving training in solar design, estimating and quotation preparation.
The role:
- You will help ensure every new enquiry is contacted quickly, properly qualified and moved through our sales process.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Calling new customer enquiries promptly
- Speaking confidently with homeowners about their requirements
- Qualifying customers based on their property, energy usage, budget and timescale
- Collecting electricity bills, roof photographs and other information
- Booking qualified remote consultations for our solar consultant
- Following up customers who cannot initially be contacted
- Nurturing customers who are interested but not yet ready to proceed
- Keeping customer information and follow-up activity updated in our CRM
- Supporting the preparation of solar and battery quotations
- Learning to use solar design and estimating software
- Assisting with system designs, proposals and sales follow-ups
- Progressing towards managing straightforward customer consultations
- Preparing quotations and closing sales as your knowledge develops
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who is confident on the telephone, commercially minded, organised and keen to develop a career in renewable energy. You should have:
- Some previous telephone-sales, appointment-setting or customer-service experience
- Confidence speaking with new customers
- A professional and friendly telephone manner
- Strong organisation and follow-up skills
- Persistence without being overly pushy
- Confidence using computers and online software
- Good written communication and attention to detail
- The ability to learn technical information
- A positive attitude and willingness to be trained
- A genuine interest in sales and renewable energy
Experience within solar, renewable energy, home improvements, construction or technical sales would be advantageous, but it is not essential. Full product, system and design training will be provided. We would also consider an ambitious candidate at the beginning of their sales career who can demonstrate excellent communication skills, confidence and a strong willingness to learn.
The intended progression for this position is: Junior Solar Sales Coordinator -> Solar Designer/Estimator -> Remote Solar Consultant. We want to find someone who can take ownership of new enquiries, support our existing solar consultant and develop into a knowledgeable, valuable member of our sales team.
