Welbro is looking to recruit an Assistant Estimator / Technical Coordinator to join our commercial team. This role is ideally suited to someone with some construction or technical experience who is looking to develop further within a specialist contractor environment.

You will take an active role across:

  • Design coordination
  • Material procurement
  • Estimating and tendering

Working alongside experienced team members, you will be expected to contribute to projects while continuing to develop your technical and commercial skillset. The role is primarily office-based, with regular site visits required.

What the Role Involves

Design Technical Coordination

  • Undertaking site surveys and taking accurate dimensions
  • Producing and developing AutoCAD drawings for roofing and cladding systems
  • Coordinating design information between clients, consultants and site teams
  • Issuing drawings and revisions at key stages of projects
  • Assisting with compliance requirements for refurbishment works

Procurement

  • Producing material schedules from drawings
  • Placing orders for materials and specialist services
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure correct specification and delivery
  • Supporting site teams with material and programme requirements

Estimating Tendering

  • Reviewing tender enquiries and project documentation
  • Carrying out take-offs and quantity measurement
  • Obtaining quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assisting with preparation of tenders and cost submissions
  • Raising RFIs with clients and design teams where required
  • Supporting internal tender reviews and adjudications

What we require from you

Essential

  • Previous experience in a construction, technical, or estimating role
  • Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Office software
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Good communication skills with both internal teams and external contacts
  • Organised with the ability to manage workload and deadlines

Desirable

  • Experience using AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of roofing and cladding systems
  • Previous involvement in estimating or take-offs
  • Understanding of refurbishment or industrial projects
