MVS is looking for an intelligent, reliable and friendly Laboratory Technician to join our collaborative, close-knit team in Sheffield on an approximately 18-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys precise, hands-on work and wants to build their experience within a specialist, quality-focused microbiology business.

About the RoleAs a Laboratory Technician, you will support the day-to-day running of our microbiology laboratory. You will help carry out essential laboratory tasks, maintain accurate records and ensure work is completed to the highest quality standards. You will be joining a supportive team where accuracy, care and attention to detail are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities- Performing bioburden testing
- Preparing media for laboratory use
- Following aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures
- Maintaining accurate and legible laboratory records
- Supporting quality standards and compliance requirements
- Working carefully and methodically in a busy laboratory environment
- Switching between tasks while maintaining accuracy and focus
We are looking for someone who is:
- Methodical, organised and quality-focused
- Accurate with excellent attention to detail
- Able to concentrate for sustained periods
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, diligent and professional
- Able to produce clear and legible handwritten records
- Interested in microbiology, science or laboratory work
Knowledge of aseptic techniques would be highly beneficial.

- Monday to Thursday: 9:00am to 5:00pm
- Friday: 9:00am to 3:00pm
