Our Client, a leading Global Manufacturer of Precision Cutting Tools for Industrial use, is looking to attract a Regional Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland. The Regional Sales Manager reports to the Director of Sales and will contribute to further developing the existing sales strategy to support and grow all the Company brands. Responsibilities include executing tactics, coaching and directing reports, while possibly maintaining a sales territory to support organisational goals and being an expert in the sales engagement process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the further development of the sales strategies and execute those strategies to drive high positive impact on the company’s revenue and profitability goals.
- Manage, teach, coach, and grow a sales territory while driving all aspects of the Company's value selling process.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales and other functional team leaders to identify and assist in continuous improvement.
- Strengthen the Sales Team effectiveness to ensure execution of the Sales Plan.
- Develop and monitor performance measurements and management systems to focus accountability.
- Manage performance review process for their regional responsibility.
- Provide daily operational support, coaching, and guidance to Application Engineers in the region.
- Support team members with complex customer applications, escalations, and technical challenges.
- Drive a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of Application Engineers.
- Execute distributor strategy and establish high-level distributor relationships to drive organic growth and leverage all brands.
- Develop high-level relationships at large end user customers to grow share of wallet.
- Set a strong example of the values and guiding principles of the company’s culture.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to inform regional strategy.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, engineering background with at least 5 years of sales management experience in the cutting tool industry essential.
- Significant experience selling through a distribution channel and managing distributors a must.
- Experience in environments that involve both B-to-B and B-to-C markets.
- Ideally, the candidate will have experience with a larger well-established company known for their selling acumen where they received comprehensive “in-class” and field-based training.
- Experience selling multiple brands would be an added benefit.
- Ability to manage a working sales territory and sales reps.
- A proven history of leveraging the skills and knowledge developed in previous experiences and applying them in a way that brings leading edge, and best in class approaches, to smaller less resourced environments.
- Deep understanding and appreciation for processes like Sales Planning, Annual Business Planning, and Business Reviews.
- Track record of results; revenue target attainment, distribution rationalization, large end user management and sales force development.
- Hands on and involved.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the region.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business.
- 3+ years' of sales experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
