We are seeking a reliable and motivated Depot Operative to join our team.
This is a hands‑on role supporting the day‑to‑day operation of the depot, ensuring equipment, facilities, and vehicles are maintained and prepared to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of equipment for hire, use, or deployment
- Carrying out routine maintenance, servicing, and basic repairs on equipment
- Cleaning and maintenance of all welfare units, working areas, and depot facilities
- Sign making and the preparation of site signage, including producing, maintaining, and organising signs as required
- Safe loading and unloading of vehicles
- Stock handling and organisation within the depot
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and health & safety
- Supporting the wider depot team with operational requirements
Qualifications
- Valid FLT Counterbalance Licence
- Valid FLT Reach Truck Licence
- Previous experience working within a depot, warehouse, yard, or similar operational environment
- Practical maintenance and repair skills
- Ability to carry out manual handling tasks safely
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong commitment to health and safety procedures
