Renewables Manager – Job Specification
Role Overview
Solar PV, ASHP, BATTERY
The Renewables Manager will oversee the delivery of renewable energy installations across multiple sites across Hampshire, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to industry standards. This role combines hands-on site management with strategic project oversight, coordinating teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality renewable solutions.
The company will fully fund all required site-management tickets and certifications, supporting the successful candidate's professional development.
Key Responsibilities Project Management

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery for renewable installations (solar, battery storage, ASHP infrastructure, or other technologies depending on company focus).
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource schedules.
  • Manage budgets, procurement, and supplier relationships.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all installations meet regulatory, technical, and quality standards.

Site Management

  • Oversee daily operations across active installation sites.
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and technical staff.
  • Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation, reports, and progress updates.

Technical & Operational Oversight

  • Review installation designs and technical specifications.
  • Support troubleshooting, commissioning, and handover processes.
  • Ensure installations meet performance expectations and client requirements.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients during project delivery.
  • Provide clear communication on timelines, progress, and technical matters.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in renewable energy installations, construction management, or related technical fields.
  • Strong project management capability, ideally with experience running multiple concurrent sites.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and construction site protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation plans.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Prior experience managing solar PV, battery storage or EV charging projects.
  • Existing site-management certifications (SMSTS, SSSTS, First Aid, etc.) β€” but these will be fully funded if not already held.
  • Experience working with subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams.
