The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be involved in far more than feature development. You'll help design, build and scale a sophisticated platform used by organisations globally, working across backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure and selected frontend components. You'll contribute to technical direction, support architectural decisions, and help ensure the platform remains secure, scalable and highly performant as the business continues to grow internationally.
What You'll Be Working On
- Engineering & Product Development
- Building scalable backend services and APIs
- Developing and enhancing cloud-native applications
- Delivering features from design through to production deployment
- Integrating external systems and third-party platforms
- Writing secure, well-tested and maintainable code
- Supporting full product lifecycle development
- Contributing across both backend and frontend projects where required
- Architecture & Technical Direction
- Helping shape platform architecture and long-term technical strategy
- Driving engineering standards and best practices
- Improving system performance, scalability and reliability
- Reducing technical debt and simplifying complex systems
- Supporting key technology selection and architectural decisions
- Team Collaboration
- Working closely with Product Managers, QA Engineers and DevOps teams
- Participating in technical reviews and architecture discussions
- Mentoring fellow engineers and sharing knowledge
- Championing a culture of continuous improvement
- Producing clear technical documentation and API specifications
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
You will ideally bring:
- Strong commercial experience developing production-grade APIs
- Extensive Python development experience
- Excellent knowledge of FastAPI
- Strong PostgreSQL expertise
- Experience integrating external APIs and services
- Solid understanding of automated testing strategies
- Experience building and deploying containerised applications using Docker
- Proven experience working within Agile environments
- A track record of delivering scalable software products used by real customers
