As the Senior Data Platform Engineer, you'll own the evolution of a greenfield Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, influencing architecture, engineering standards, governance strategy, and the long-term direction of the organisation's data capability. What You'll Do
- Architect the Future of Healthcare Data
- Design, build, and scale a modern Microsoft Fabric data platform
- Own platform architecture across Lakehouse, warehouse, semantic, and analytics layers
- Drive the transition from early-stage capability to enterprise-scale production environment
- Make key technology decisions that balance performance, compliance, scalability, and future innovation
- Partner with senior stakeholders to define the organisation's long-term data strategy
Engineer Modern Data Solutions
- Develop highly scalable and resilient data pipelines
- Integrate data from healthcare systems, SaaS applications, APIs, databases, and operational platforms
- Build ingestion, transformation, and orchestration frameworks using modern engineering principles
- Implement monitoring, observability, and data quality controls to ensure trusted and reliable insights
- Optimise platform performance to support growing data volumes and analytical demand
Turn Data Into Better Decisions
- Develop trusted semantic models and enterprise Power BI solutions
- Create governed data products that enable self-service analytics across the business
- Support executive reporting, operational intelligence, predictive analytics, and future AI initiatives
- Establish consistent metrics, definitions, and reporting standards across the organisation
- Help unlock the full value of healthcare data to improve business and patient outcomes
Champion Engineering Excellence
- Introduce CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and modern DevOps practices
- Implement governance, security, privacy, and access controls aligned to healthcare regulations

What We're Looking For
- Significant experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, or a similar role
- Experience designing and delivering modern cloud-based data platforms
- Strong expertise with Microsoft Fabric, including several of the following: OneLake, Fabric Lakehouse, Fabric Warehouse, Data Factory, Notebooks, Power BI, Semantic Models, Dataflows
- Advanced SQL development skills
- Python and/or PySpark experience
- Strong understanding of dimensional modelling and data warehousing concepts
- Experience building enterprise-scale data integration and pipeline solutions
- Strong Power BI development expertise, including DAX optimisation and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with Git, source control, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices
- Strong knowledge of data governance, security, compliance, and data quality frameworks
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- HealthTech, healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industry experience would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
