The role of HGV Class 1 Driver:

  • Conducting pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs to ensure roadworthiness
  • Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, logbooks and other necessary paperwork in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Carrying out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and reporting defects correctly
  • Complying with on‑site health and safety requirements
  • Understanding and complying with driver's hours and WTD legislation

The ideal HGV Class 1 Driver:

  • Valid HGV 1/C+E Licence
  • Valid DCPC and Tacho cards
  • Minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience
  • No more than 6 points, no DD/DR code convictions
  • Strong communication skills
