The role of HGV Class 1 Driver:
- Conducting pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs to ensure roadworthiness
- Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, logbooks and other necessary paperwork in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Carrying out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and reporting defects correctly
- Complying with on‑site health and safety requirements
- Understanding and complying with driver's hours and WTD legislation
The ideal HGV Class 1 Driver:
- Valid HGV 1/C+E Licence
- Valid DCPC and Tacho cards
- Minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience
- No more than 6 points, no DD/DR code convictions
- Strong communication skills
