About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft SQL DBA & Data Developer to join Akkodis’s dynamic Data Services team. This role offers a unique blend of database administration and data development responsibilities, with approximately 70% focused on DBA tasks and 30% on development activities. As part of this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our client’s data environments, which include traditional MS SQL Server platforms and innovative Azure Data Services. Your expertise will support system security, facilitate data delivery projects, and contribute to transformative initiatives that shape the future of data management within the organization. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience working with the Microsoft stack as both a DBA and Data Developer. A strong proficiency in T‑SQL, SSIS, and SSRS is essential, along with the ability to develop stored procedures and functions. Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Analytics, or similar cloud data platforms is highly desirable, or a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. The candidate should demonstrate excellent data analytical skills, with the ability to reverse engineer legacy data structures and improve data quality. A background in designing, implementing, and supporting data lakes, warehouses, and marts is advantageous. Relevant certifications in SQL Server or Azure Data Services will be considered a plus.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily management, monitoring, and maintenance of data systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Implement and maintain robust data system security protocols, including patching and vulnerability management.
- Support the development and delivery of data and ETL services to meet organizational needs.
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis, design solutions, and perform remediation activities to resolve issues.
- Engage in transformation projects, supporting change management initiatives and technological upgrades.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and propose enhancements to optimize data workflows.
- Create detailed functional and technical documentation to support system operations and future development.
- Investigate and resolve system problems through root cause analysis, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Research emerging technologies and develop skills to stay current with industry best practices.
- Participate in data quality initiatives, contributing to the continuous improvement of data lakes, warehouses, and marts.
