As a Combat System Engineer, you will be integral to the delivery of the Naval Combat Systems Integration Support Service (NCSISS) contract, supporting the entire lifecycle of complex systems from development through to operational deployment. Your role will involve working closely with a team of engineers and project managers to ensure seamless integration, rigorous testing, and effective evaluation of combat systems. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant engineering background with proven experience in naval combat systems or related fields. Essential qualifications include a degree in Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline. Candidates should demonstrate hands‑on experience with Naval Combat Systems, Radar, Sonar, Command & Control (C2), or Weapons systems. Experience in Test & Evaluation, Integration, and system validation is highly desirable. Candidates must also be eligible for SC clearance, as security requirements are integral to the role. Responsibilities
- Executing key systems engineering activities on significant maritime projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with project standards.
- Engaging with both internal teams and external stakeholders to understand and align on customer requirements, capability needs, and project constraints.
- Developing detailed test plans, conducting integration activities, and producing supporting evidence to validate system performance and readiness.
- Leading or supporting sea trials on Royal Navy ships, including potential overseas deployments, to verify system functionality in operational environments.
- Managing technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and validation records, to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Monitoring project progress, reporting on milestones, and providing technical guidance to project leads and clients.
- Participating in troubleshooting, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.
