We're looking for a Mechanical Product Development Engineer with strong experience in hydraulics, pressure systems, and sealing design to support the design and development of mechanical products used in data centre liquid cooling and HVAC-related applications. This role covers the full product lifecycle — from concept generation and CAD design through prototyping, testing, validation, compliance, and handover into production. You'll be responsible for developing components and systems that operate under pressure, maintain leak‑tight integrity, and integrate into electromechanical assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hydraulic and pressure‑bearing systems, including pumps, valves, fittings, manifolds, fluid conduits, and pressure‑rated assemblies.
  • Engineer sealing interfaces such as O‑ring grooves, gaskets, metal‑to‑metal seals, and welded/fabricated pressure boundaries.
  • Produce 3D CAD models, mechanical drawings, tolerance analyses, pressure calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Support system integration into broader assemblies (e.g., liquid cooling loops, CDU components, heat exchangers, and low‑voltage housings).
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and industrialisation teams to ensure designs are optimised for cost, buildability, and reliability.
  • Support material selection for pressure and fluid compatibility (metals, elastomers, plastics).
  • Contribute to DFMEA / PFMEA, design reviews, cost‑down, and design optimisation activities.
  • Oversee prototype builds and validation testing, including hydrostatic and burst pressure testing, leak integrity and sealing verification, flow and pressure‑drop performance, mechanical endurance and fatigue, and thermal stability testing in cooling applications.
  • Investigate issues from testing, manufacturing feedback, or field performance and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure designs meet relevant standards and safety requirements (e.g., PED, ISO hydraulic standards, EN mechanical safety).

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulics, Fluid Power Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong experience in hydraulic system design and/or pressure‑bearing mechanical components.
  • Proven capability designing sealing interfaces and pressure‑retaining joints.
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics, flow modelling, cavitation prevention, and pressure‑drop analysis.
  • Strong CAD and engineering documentation skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, Solid Edge, ANSYS or similar).
  • Experience with prototype testing, failure analysis, and validation activities.
  • Familiarity with engineering change processes and structured product development workflows.

Desirable

  • Experience in data centre cooling, liquid cooling infrastructure, or HVAC fluid handling systems.
  • Experience working with electromechanical assemblies and low‑voltage product environments.

What You'll Get

  • The chance to work on advanced hydraulic and pressure‑based mechanical products supporting next‑generation cooling technologies.
  • End‑to‑end product development exposure from concept through to industrialisation.
  • A collaborative R&D environment with strong cross‑functional support.
