We’re looking for an experienced Solutions Engineer to take technical ownership of connected systems spanning lighting controls, sensors, automation, and data-driven environments. This role sits at the centre of system-level design and integration. You’ll act as the internal technical lead, coordinating external partners, shaping architecture, and ensuring complex components come together into reliable, scalable solutions. If you enjoy designing how systems should work — and making them work in the real world — this role is for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Systems Architecture & Integration
- Define and maintain overall system architecture across lighting controls, sensors, and environmental systems
- Ensure seamless interoperability between internal products and third-party platforms
- Translate business and technical needs into clear specifications for external partners
- Vendor & Partner Coordination
- Lead technical relationships with integrators, programmers, and software partners
- Review partner output, validate performance, and ensure delivery meets standards
- Coordinate across hardware, controls, networking, and cloud systems
- Lighting Control Platform Ownership
- Own configuration, commissioning, optimisation, and evolution of networked control platforms
- Develop control strategies that support automation, adaptive lighting, and energy efficiency
- Automation, Data & Intelligence
- Collaborate with R&D on automation logic, feedback loops, and data-driven features
- Support integration of sensor data, dashboards, monitoring, and analytics
- Help define control logic, schedules, and environmental setpoints
- Delivery & Technical Support
- Provide technical oversight during deployments
- Act as the go-to internal expert for controls, sensors, networking, and system behaviour
- Support partners and installers with clear, structured guidance
- Documentation & Standards
- Create system diagrams, integration guides, and commissioning procedures
- Establish standards for controls, connectivity, security, and QA
- Ensure long-term reliability and maintainability across deployments
What We’re Looking For
- Essential
- Experience as a Systems Engineer, Controls Engineer, IoT Specialist, or similar
- Strong understanding of connected devices, automation logic, and system integration
- Comfortable working across hardware, firmware, software, and networking
- Able to diagnose system-level issues and coordinate technical resolutions
- Clear communicator who can explain complex concepts to varied audiences
- Nice to Have
- Background in lighting, building controls, industrial automation, or sensor networks
- Exposure to cloud platforms, APIs, dashboards, or data pipelines
- Experience in agricultural, greenhouse, or industrial environments
- Some scripting or programming ability (e.g. Python)
About You
- Curious, proactive, and comfortable owning complex technical systems
- Collaborative and confident working with external partners
- Methodical, well-organised, and strong at documentation
- Motivated to build systems that genuinely make an impact
