The Opportunity: Service Controller
Contract: Permanent
Location: Tottenham
The Impact You Will Have:
- Follow Company Health & Safety guidelines at all times, ensuring the safety of colleagues and customers both on-site and off-site.
- Drive industry-leading performance by managing Engineer productivity, workload, time management, call handling expectations and SLAs.
- Ensure purchase order numbers are obtained before starting chargeable work, and confirm pro-forma invoices are paid by CoD customers prior to job commencement.
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with internal and external customers, keeping them informed and managing expectations.
- Prioritise and schedule all work to meet customer requirements and contractual KPIs, including forward planning for VOR/NVOR work, Allianz inspection follow-ups, and coordination with third-party service providers.
- Monitor and balance preventative maintenance, reactive work, and work in progress to ensure timely completion.
- Promote a strong team ethic and support colleagues when required.
- Take ownership of issues, applying effective problem-solving to reach timely resolutions.
- Optimise Engineer routes and workloads to maximise productive hours while reducing unnecessary travel and carbon emissions.
- Review and approve Engineer non-productive hours and overtime, liaising with the Service Manager for authorisation.
- Oversee out-of-hours activity for all Engineers.
- Approve Engineer leave in line with business needs.
- Manage Free of Charge and Short-Term Hire trucks to minimise cost.
- Support onboarding and training of new team members.
- Identify and maximise opportunities to generate additional revenue.
- Carry out any reasonable tasks requested by a regional line manager.
