Job Title: Remote Sales Estimator (100% Work From Home)

Location: Remote from Latin America

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $2,000 USD/month via bank transfer or Veem

Schedule: Monday – Friday, business hours Eastern Time

Job Overview:

The Estimator/Salesperson is responsible for project estimates, communicating with customers and closing sales while collaborating with colleagues to build upon the team. Key responsibilities include identifying and evaluating opportunities, performing and reviewing estimates, scheduling, client communication, coordination with internal staff and subcontractors, problem solving, and quality assurance to drive successful, profitable projects completed in advance of project deadlines. The Estimator will also contribute ideas to improve the team’s day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. I. Business Development & Sales (Estimating)
    • Opportunity Identification: Proactively review the market to seek out new project opportunities and strategically evaluate which projects to pursue.
    • Estimating & Pricing: Build and review project estimates. This includes performing take-offs or thoroughly reviewing and adjusting take-offs completed by other resources using tools like MeasureSquare.
    • Supplier Relations: Regularly reach out to suppliers and manufacturers to secure material pricing, build relationships, and coordinate material submittals and samples.
    • Sales Closure: Follow up with customers, General Contractors (GCs), and Construction Managers after proposals are submitted, aiming to close the sale via contract or purchase order.
    • Client Relationship Management: Be responsible for assigned or acquired key accounts. Conduct regular outreach to clients to build relationships, develop new business, and anticipate their flooring needs.
    • Performance Tracking: Maintain the project pipeline with notes and feedback. Track the win rate and analyze feedback to continuously improve estimating outcomes and sales strategy.
  2. II. Project Execution & Management
    • Project Hand-off & Start-up: Manage the hand-off process, including initial setup and start-up of each won project. Coordinate with colleagues who assist with or manage ongoing project execution.
    • Scope Management: Understand the project scope. Work with GCs or end-users to identify work requested outside the original contract and assemble change orders to address out-of-scope issues.
    • Project Controls: Create and execute project work plans, ensuring quality, cost, and time constraints are effectively managed. Revise plans as needed to meet changing client requirements.
    • Client and Partner Coordination: Meet with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and installers to ensure alignment and successful project completion.
    • Documentation & Billing: Manage and track time and material tickets, coordinate with office staff for invoicing turnaround. Send a monthly tracking report to the GCs.
  3. III. Communication & Process Improvement
    • Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipate issues, respond proactively, and resolve or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
    • Communication: Maintain regular, effective communication with clients and internal colleagues regarding project status.
    • Administrative Diligence: Track calls, virtual meetings, and outreach in the company CRM weekly. Document important project information and maintain client confidentiality.
    • Team Contribution: Actively contribute ideas and participate in meetings to improve the team’s day-to-day operations.

Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies:

  • Experience & Education: A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a related field) combined with 4+ years of experience in the industry or a closely related field.
  • Expertise & Judgment: Relies on experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals, with familiarity across concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
  • Financial Acumen: Proven financial management skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Effective and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and client interaction.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer and technical knowledge relevant to the role.
