The Role

• Take a leading role in developing and expanding the firm's VAT advisory offering.
• Drive business development activity, identifying new clients, building relationships and converting opportunities into sustainable revenue.
• Leverage existing professional networks to generate new instructions and establish long-term commercial partnerships.
• Develop and execute strategies to increase market presence, strengthen client relationships and grow fee income.
• Provide senior-level VAT advice on complex technical and commercial matters across a range of sectors.
• Oversee significant client engagements, ensuring commercially focused advice and high-quality delivery.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and collaborate with colleagues across other service lines.
• Support the development of senior VAT professionals, encouraging a commercially focused and collaborative team culture.
• Contribute to broader practice strategy, commercial planning and long-term business growth.

Your Experience

• Significant VAT advisory experience, ideally gained within an accountancy or professional services environment.
• A strong track record of business development, revenue generation and developing profitable client relationships.
• An established professional network and the commercial ability to identify, pursue and convert new opportunities.
• Experience operating in a senior leadership capacity, with the confidence to influence business strategy and commercial decisions.
• Strong technical VAT knowledge, with the ability to oversee complex advisory matters.
• Financial Services VAT experience would be advantageous, although broader VAT advisory backgrounds are welcome.
• Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills.
• A genuine interest in growing a practice, developing people and contributing to the long-term success of a partnership.
