About the Job
Working as part of a small team, the Trainee Accountant / Junior Accountant will gain broad exposure across a range of accounting services while receiving full support towards their professional qualification. This role would suit a graduate, trainee or part-qualified candidate who is looking to develop their technical accounting knowledge and gain hands-on experience within practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Preparation
- Assist with the preparation of accounts for a range of clients
- Prepare and maintain accounting records and working papers
- Support senior team members with client assignments
- Ensure work is completed accurately and within deadlines
- Audit
- Assist with audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Support the preparation of audit documentation and working papers
- Liaise with clients to obtain relevant information
- Tax
- Assist with tax compliance work
- Support the preparation of relevant tax documentation
- Develop knowledge across different areas of taxation
- Forensic Accounting
- Assist with research, analysis and preparation of information for forensic assignments
- Support senior team members with investigative accounting work
- Client & Team Support
- Communicate with clients and assist with resolving queries
- Work closely with colleagues across a range of assignments
- Develop strong technical and commercial understanding through practical experience
Previous Experience
- Degree, diploma or master's in Accounting, Finance or a related subject
- Trainee or part-qualified candidates will also be considered
- Previous accountancy practice experience would be advantageous but is not essential
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Genuine interest in pursuing a career within accountancy practice
- Willingness to study towards a professional accounting qualification
