About the Job
- Support the Tax Director with the preparation and delivery of high-quality tax advice across Private Client and Corporate Tax.
- Act as a key point of contact within the team, helping to manage workflow and drive advisory projects through to completion.
- Prepare clear, commercially focused and technically accurate tax advice reports.
- Advise OMBs and their owners on a broad range of tax planning and restructuring matters.
- Support Private Client advisory work including IHT planning, CGT advice and income extraction planning.
- Assist with Corporate Tax planning including restructurings, group reorganisations, demergers and purchases of own shares.
- Provide advice around remuneration planning, share schemes, ERS reporting and ATED where relevant.
- Prepare HMRC clearances and supporting documentation for complex planning assignments.
- Undertake detailed technical research and apply findings to specific client scenarios.
- Act as a technical point of contact for colleagues across the wider business where required.
- Liaise directly with clients and internal teams to gather information and ensure timely delivery of advisory work.
- Support the Tax Director with strategic planning assignments and wider client projects.
- Assist with complex compliance work, disclosures and HMRC enquiries during busy periods.
- Contribute to the development of internal technical knowledge, processes and best practice.
- Maintain a strong understanding of changes to UK tax legislation, HMRC guidance and relevant case law.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to deliver a holistic approach to client advice.
Previous experience
- CTA qualified with relevant post-qualification experience gained within a professional practice environment.
- Strong UK tax advisory experience, ideally covering both Private Client and Corporate Tax matters.
- Alternatively, strong specialist experience across Private Client advisory or Corporate Tax planning.
- Proven experience advising OMBs, business owners, high net worth individuals and/or corporate groups.
- Strong experience drafting technically robust and commercially focused tax advice reports.
- Good technical knowledge across areas including IHT, CGT, income extraction and corporate restructuring.
- Experience researching complex tax legislation and applying technical findings to practical client scenarios.
- Experience with corporate clearances, share schemes, remuneration planning, demergers, purchase of own shares, ERS reporting or ATED would be advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of technical accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple advisory projects and competing deadlines.
- Commercially minded with a genuine focus on delivering practical solutions for clients.
- Confident working closely with senior stakeholders and acting as a trusted adviser to clients.
- Hands-on approach with the willingness to support on compliance, disclosures and HMRC enquiries when required.
- Ambitious and motivated to develop within a growing advisory-focused Tax team.
- Comfortable working remotely and managing workload independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
